Since Iron helps create red blood cells you can help reduce your risk of anemia by eating foods that contain iron all throughout your pregnancy. These include:
• Red meats
• Poultry (dark meat)
• Fortified breakfast cereals (check the box to see if the cereal contains iron)
• Oatmeal
• Blackstrap molasses
• Spinach and other dark leafy green vegetables
• Baked potato, with skin
• Cooked or dried beans and peas
• Raisins, dates, prunes, figs, apricots
Low Back Pain
While it is fairly common, back pain during pregnancy (or menstrual cycle) should not be accepted as just part of the process. To help make your pregnancy as pleasant as possible and facilitate an easier delivery, back pain should be always be addressed as quickly as possible and managed throughout your pregnancy.
Low back pain of long duration (several weeks or months) during pregnancy is a predictor for post partum back pain. For this reason pregnant women are encouraged to seek appropriate treatment for back pain during pregnancy.
Breech Baby
By 38 weeks, most of babies turn head down by themselves yet every year, thousands of women have C-sectionsoften it's because the baby's in a breech position. Today it’s known that acupuncture may turn the baby and spare some pregnant women from having surgery. The acupuncture breech treatment is best done between36 - 38 weeks, however, there are many cases of babies turning only days before the delivery.
The exact reason why certain acupuncture point can turn the breeched baby is unknown, but acupuncture has been recognized by scientific study is that it relaxes the muscle layer of uterine wall which increase fetal activity.

Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation
Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation or Cosmetic Acupuncture is a non-surgical procedure that will help rejuvenate and revitalize your whole body. It will improve blood and energy circulation, nourish your skin and increase collagen and elastin production to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sagging and dull skin.
• More radiant skin
• Reduce larger wrinkles
• Eliminate fine lines
• Smoothing of deep lines
• Reduce dark circles around the eyes
• Fading of age spots
• Lift sagging jowls and eyelids
• Reduce double chins
• Tighten pores
• More toned muscles
• Enhanced overall appearance, health and well-being

Cosmetic Acupuncture is based on the principals of Traditional Chinese and Japanese Medicine. Through the use of fine disposable acupuncture needles an acupuncturist can help balance the energy within meridian systems and energy pathways to restore and maintain health.
Cosmetic Acupuncture utilizes the meridians that either end or begin at the face to stimulate and balance the energy and at the same time, treat the underlying factors that contribute to the aging process. This involves the insertion of hair-thin disposable needles into specific areas on the face, ears, hands, legs and torso. The needles are inserted into the energy pathways or meridians to improve the flow of Qi (energy). As the movement of energy improves, a greater amount of energy and blood are circulated to the face, nourishing, hydrating, toning and diminishing the appearance of wrinkles.
What is the course of treatment?
A course of treatment consists of 10-15 sessions (generally 12). We recommend that clients have the first 6 sessions twice a week and have the last 6 sessions once a week to get maximum result. This means that a full course of sessions takes 9 weeks to complete. Results are visible around the 7th or 8th session. Monthly maintenance sessions will prolong the results as will facial exercises, facial acupressure massage, a healthy diet and a balanced lifestyle. These typical 90 min treatment may include;
- Consultation and discussion of your goal and overall health
- Acupuncture Body Treatment: Constitutional balancing treatment
- Acupuncture Facial Treatment
How long will the benefits last?
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture causes genuine healing and rejuvenation to occur, encouraging your skin to repair itself and improve its appearance from the inside out. While the Facial Rejuvenation cannot prevent aging, it depends a lot on your lifestyle, and whether you are willing to address other areas that may need attention such as exercise, nutrition, and stress reduction. However with maintenance visits its beneficial effects can last three to five years or longer. Eventually, it may be necessary to repeat the initial twelve sessions to gain the maximal result.
Why choose Cosmetic Acupuncture over a Face Lift?
Cosmetic Acupuncture is not a replacement for cosmetic surgery face lifts and botox treatments, however it is an excellent natural alternative. It is much less costly and a safer treatment. It is an excellent medical alternative to western cosmetic surgery.
What are the Risks?
The risks with cosmetic acupuncture are minimal and rare, and include bruising and swelling at the acupuncture site.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is contraindicated for some pituitary disorders, heart disorders, diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, individuals who have a pacemaker or who have a problem with bleeding or bruising, or who currently suffer from migraine headaches. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture should not be done during pregnancy, during a bout with a cold or flu, during an allergic attack or during an acute herpes outbreak.
A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment. These effects included: the skin becoming delicate and fair, improvement of the elasticity of facial muscles and leveling of wrinkles, a ruddier complexion, and overall rejuvenation not confined to the face.
